Week 1 really did not begin until Monday December 14. We had one small issue to work out that kept us from digging. That issue was that one corner of the house encroached on the setback requirements from the Country Club. It's a 50 foot setback and just one corner was over by about 7 feet really not noticeable. Nevertheless, we needed to try to get a variance from CCC. Otherwise, the house just was not going to work on this lot. Also, by this time, we were pretty much committed to this house design, so a big disappointment was in the offing if this variance had not been granted. But, it was. The CCC Board called a special meeting on December 7 and approved the variance. So we were off to the races
So, digging commenced on December 14. The hole was dug, footers were poured and walls were formed. Weather was OK, good enough to do this work. The key was getting the walls poured so that we could pour the basement floor before the weather got too cold. That way, we could get walls built and work all winter. By the end of the week, the walls were poured. A successful week.
Looks great Dad! I'm really excited to see all the progress!!!
